The Barn

The Big Barn was built in the early 1800's and moved to its current location at the turn of the century. In the 1920's cement was poured for the horse stalls. A finished floor of hemlock and panelled walls of fir were installed in the early fifties.

The Big Barn in autumn

Sometimes even the big house is too small on rainy days and that's why kids and grown-ups like our big barn. It's big enough to sport a regulation-sized basketball hoop, table tennis, and floor hockey. Toddlers can ride bikes in the barn to their hearts' content. We have soccer balls, basketballs, tennis balls, street hockey pucks and balls, and ping-pong balls. We have hockey sticks and a hockey net and a space that's big enough for any imagination.
